            MY OL' STOMPIN' GROUND

Tonight, I'll reclaim my ol' stompin' ground
And I won't even let her memory get me down
I was haunting this place
Long before I saw her face
So tonight, I'll reclaim my ol' stompin' ground

It was here that we met
     I could never forget
In that corner's where we broke up
When I'm near there I get choked up
But I'm tryin' to get that woman off of my mind

Tonight, I'll reclaim my ol' stompin' ground
And I won't even let her memory get me down
I was haunting this place
Long before I saw her face
So tonight, I'll reclaim my ol' stompin' ground

I'll find some women to dance
And steal a kiss if I can
     But no temporary lovers
I've had one, don't want another
I'm just tryin' to drive that woman out of my heart

Tonight, I'll reclaim my ol' stompin' ground
And I won't even let her memory get me down
I was haunting this place
Long before I saw her face
So tonight, I'll reclaim my ol' stompin' ground
So tonight, I"ll reclaim - I won't even think her name
Tonight, I'll reclaim my ol' stompin' ground

Notes

This was one of those that I wrote alone . . . and straight from the heart for that matter.
It's simply a true song.  I wrote it while riding my Harley on Hwy 41 (of the Allman Brother's "Ramblin' Man" fame).  I had plans to go to the Wildhorse that night . . . which for me was "My Ol' Stompin' Ground" . . .
and well, the lyric says it all.
