I must give some credit to my friends at NSAI's (The Nashville Songwriter's Association International) Los Angeles group for some great critiques which helped shape this song as I was rewriting it. (This was back before I moved to Nashville). I remember playing it in a meeting and getting wonderful suggestions which I put to use. As to the lyric . . . well, it's not about any specific true story . . . but, I've been there . . . haven't you?
