                     PLAYIN' DOCTOR

You've got the fever
I can see you're feelin' chilled
I've got somethin' for you
And it's better than your pills

    Open up now, woman
Open up and let me in
    I can make you better
I can make you better again

I caught the fever
You can see it in my eyes
It's climbing fast now
You can feel it on the rise

    Open up now, woman
Open up and let me in
    You can make me better
You can make me better again

Remember playin' doctor when we were kids?
Out behind the bushes, doin' things that doctors did
Now I make house calls, I'm on duty all the time
But I've got a busy schedule - show me yours, I'll show you mine

    Open up now, woman
Open up and let me in
    I can make you better
I can make you better again

Notes

I don't really remember exactly when I wrote this one, but I RE-wrote it in
1994, the year before I moved to Nashville.  I think I had it for several years
before that.  Ah, the beauty of innuendo in a blues song - subtle isn't it?
